Membership
The Southgate has a pub licence and welcomes everyone, whether local or visiting the area, with a true Welsh welcome but it is also a Club. The main benefit of membership is that you pay less for your drinks as well as having a say in how The Southgate is run. If you are interested in joining, please print off and complete the attached form, then hand it in over the bar together with the appropriate fee. Click here to print the form
History
The Southgate was formed by local residents in 1928. It has had a chequered history including a time in the 1950s when seamen coming ashore in Swansea for rest and relaxation came to the Club, which earned it the sobriquet of “Bucket of Blood”.
Today it is a welcoming place for locals and visitors alike. We look forward to seeing you.
About Us
We are situated close to the path that leads to the famous Three Cliffs Bay and Pobbles Bay. At The Southgate we are proud to offer a full TV sports package. We have Sky sports, BT sports and Amazon sports. Showing all sporting coverage on our large screens.
The bar is dog friendly. We also have a Pool table and darts board.
Everyone is welcome to the programme of events we hold, which include Euchre (cards) Sundays at 8pm, Bridge Mondays at 7pm and our very popular Quiz night on Thursday evenings at 9.00pm
